Exterior Detailing
in Morris County, NJ

Road film, bug guts, brake dust, water spots, dull paint. I wash it all away by hand in your driveway, and finish with a coat of spray wax that makes the color pop.

A Hand-Washed, Protected Finish Without Leaving Home

Exterior car detailing in Morris County NJ is one of GNG Auto Detail's three core services, alongside interior and full details. I'm a mobile detailer based in Cedar Knolls who hand-washes, decontaminates, and protects your car's exterior right in your driveway. New Jersey roads are hard on paint: winter brine, spring pollen, summer bugs, brake dust all year. An exterior detail strips that buildup off safely and leaves a protected, glossy finish behind.

No automatic car wash brushes ever touch your paint. Every wash is done by hand with the two-bucket method and clean microfiber, the way it should be. And because every car's condition is different, every quote is custom. You show me the car, I give you a fair price, and nothing starts until you say go.

Every Exterior Detail, Every Time

A full decontamination and protection pass, not a rushed rinse.

Pre-Rinse & Foam Wash

A thorough pre-rinse knocks off loose dirt, then a pH-balanced foam soak lifts grime off the paint before anything touches it. That's how you wash without scratching.

Wheels, Tires & Wells

Brake dust dissolved off the wheel faces and barrels, tires scrubbed clean, wheel wells rinsed out, and a satin tire dressing to finish. No greasy shine, just clean.

Bug & Grime Removal

Bug remains on the bumper and mirrors get softened and lifted safely instead of scrubbed until the clear coat suffers. Door jambs and the trunk sill get wiped clean too.

Spray Wax Protection

A coat of spray wax adds gloss and a sacrificial layer that helps water bead and grime rinse off easier, so the clean lasts longer between washes.

Glass & Final Inspection

Streak-free glass and mirrors inside the wash scope, then a slow lap around the car checking every panel before I call it done. You inspect it with me.

How Mobile Exterior Detailing Works at Your Home

Step 1, walkaround. I look at the car together: paint condition, bug buildup, wheels, water spots. You get a firm quote before anything starts, not a guess.

Step 2, setup. I park next to your car and set up the wash rig, running off my own water tank and generator. I bring everything, from the water itself to the last microfiber towel. Prefer drop-off? You can always leave the car with me in Cedar Knolls instead.

Step 3, wash and decontaminate. Pre-rinse, foam soak, two-bucket hand wash, wheels and tires, bug removal, door jambs. Any add-ons like clay bar treatment or water spot removal happen here.

Step 4, protect and finish. The paint gets dried with plush towels, spray wax goes on for gloss and protection, tires get a satin dressing, and glass gets a streak-free wipe.

Step 5, the handoff. You walk the car with me. If anything's not right, I fix it on the spot, and the car is ready to drive immediately.

Exterior Detail vs Full Detail

An exterior detail is the right call when the inside of your car is holding up fine but the outside has lost its shine: road film, bugs, dull paint, dirty wheels. It takes about 2 hours and the car looks new from the curb.

If the cabin needs love too, crumbs, pet hair, stains, odors, step up to a full detail, which combines this entire exterior process with my complete interior detail in one visit. It's my most-booked service for a reason.

Exterior Car Detailing Morris County FAQ

What does exterior car detailing in Morris County include?
Every exterior detail includes a pre-rinse and pH-balanced foam wash, a two-bucket hand wash with microfiber mitts, wheel, tire, and wheel-well cleaning, bug removal, spray wax protection, satin tire dressing, streak-free glass and mirrors, door jambs and trunk sill, and a final quality inspection before I hand the keys back.
How long does an exterior detail take?
About 2 hours for most vehicles. Larger SUVs and trucks, or cars with heavy bug and tar buildup, can run a bit longer. I give you an honest timeline at the walkaround before any work starts.
Is an exterior detail the same as a car wash?
No. A car wash pushes your paint through brushes or rushes it by hand in a few minutes. An exterior detail is a slow, controlled process: foam pre-soak to lift grit before anything touches the paint, a two-bucket hand wash so dirt never gets rubbed back in, dedicated wheel and tire work, bug and tar removal, and a spray wax layer for protection and gloss. It's the difference between rinsing your car and actually caring for it.
Do I need to provide water or electricity?
I bring everything, including my own water and power. My rig carries a water tank and a generator, so any driveway or parking spot works. Prefer to drop the car off instead? You're always welcome at 191 Malapardis Road in Cedar Knolls.
How much does exterior detailing cost in Morris County?
Exterior detailing is quoted per vehicle based on size and condition. I look at the car, give you a fair price up front, and nothing starts until you approve it. No flat packages and no bait pricing. Call or text 862-204-7568 for a free quote.
Can you add paint polishing, clay bar treatment, or headlight restoration?
Yes. My One-Step Paint Polish machine-levels swirl marks, water spot etching, and oxidation out of the clear coat and includes clay bar prep. On its own, clay bar treatment removes embedded contaminants like overspray, tar, and sap for a glass-smooth finish, water spot removal clears mineral deposits from paint and glass, and headlight restoration renews foggy or oxidized lenses. All of them can be added to any exterior detail.
